This part of the lab is presented as a Hands-on Labs Interactive Simulation. This will allow you to experience steps which are too time-consuming or resource intensive to do live in the lab environment. In this simulation, you can use the software interface as if you are interacting with a live environment.

The orange boxes show where to click, and the left and right arrow keys can also be used to move through the simulation in either direction.

In this simulation, you will use vRealize Suite Lifecycle Manager to connect to the VMware Marketplace and search for and download a vRealize Log Insight content pack (in this case, the vRealize Operations Manager content pack for Log Insight.)  Once the content pack is downloaded, you will install it into the vRealize Log Insight deployment in the existing Rainpole Dev environment.

Log In to vRealize Suite Lifecycle Manager

  1. Click on the Google Chrome icon to launch the web browser.
  2. Click on the Username field and enter admin@localhost
  3. Click on the Password field and enter VMware1! as the password
  4. Click the LOG IN button to log in

View and Download VMware Marketplace Content

  1. Click the Marketplace icon
    • Initially, the Marketplace listings are not available.  Once My VMware credentials have been entered in the Settings section (which has already been completed for this simulation,) the Marketplace content can be refreshed.
  2. Click the Refresh Content from Marketplace icon
  3. Click the vRealize Operations filter icon to remove it from the search results.  Doing so will limit the items shown to content packs for vRealize Log Insight
  4. Click the Search field and enter vRealize Operations Manager Content Pack, and then press Enter to refresh the search results
    • With the search filter in place, the vRealize Operations Manager Content Pack for Log Insight will be the only item shown.
  5. Click DOWNLOAD to download the content pack
  6. Click the Downloaded tab to view the newly downloaded content pack

Install the vRealize Operations Manager Content Pack for Log Insight

  1. Click the 3 vertical dots in the vRealize Operations Manager Content Pack for Log Insight pane to open the menu
  2. Click Install to begin the content pack installation process
  3. Click the Select Datacenter select box to open it
  4. Click Rainpole Dev to select this datacenter as the location for installation of this content pack
  5. Click the Select Environment select box to open it
  6. Click Rainpole Dev to select the vRealize Log Insight deployment in this environment as the location within the Rainpole Dev datacenter for installation of this content pack
  7. Click INSTALL
  8. Click the here link to view the content pack installation request in progress
  9. The content pack installation will complete after several moments.  With this process complete, the content pack is now available to be configured within vRealize Log Insight

This completes the simulation on VMware Marketplace integration into vRealize Suite Lifecycle Manager.
