- Click on the Host Preparation tab.
NSX components are deployed on a cluster by cluster basis. You cannot prepare a single host within a cluster, it's all or nothing:
- Highlight the RegionA01-COMP01 cluster.
- Click on the Actions cog.
- Click Install.
- Click Yes to confirm the install.
The VMware Infrastructure Bundles (vibs) are now being pushed down to all ESXi hosts in the cluster which should only take a few minutes and the hosts do not require a reboot.
Verify that the Installation Status has completed successfully and shows the version of NSX that you are currently deploying.
The Firewall is automatically enabled as part of the deployment so ensure it says Enabled.
Next, install the vibs on the RegionA01-COMP02.
- Highlight the RegionA01-COMP02 cluster.
- Click on the Actions cog.
- Click Install.
- Click Yes to confirm the install.
And finally, the RegionA01-MGMT cluster.
- Highlight the RegionA01-MGMT01 cluster.
- Click on the Actions cog.
- Click Install.
- Click Yes to confirm the install.
You will notice that all three clusters are currently not configured for VXLAN.
- To configure a cluster simply click on the Not Configured link for RegionA01-COMP01.
- Click the radio button next to Use IP Pool and select New IP Pool...
- Enter the following information:

Name: VTEP-Pool-RegionA01

Gateway: 192.168.130.1
-
Prefix Length: 24
-
Primary DNS: 192.168.110.10

DNS Suffix: corp.local
-
Static IP Pool: 192.168.130.51-192.168.130.56
- Click OK to confirm.
- Click OK to configure VXLAN networking for RegionA01-COMP01.
Now configure VXLAN for RegionA01-COMP02
- Click the Not Configured link.
- Click the radio button next to Use IP Pool and select VTEP-Pool-RegionA01.
- Click OK.
Finally, configure VXLAN for RegionA01-MGMT01
- Click the Not Configured link.
- Click the radio button next to Use IP Pool and select VTEP-Pool-RegionA01.
- Click OK.
