These are the steps to be used in the offline demo for installation of vR Ops

Deploying the vRealize Operations Manager Appliance

This part of the lab is presented as a Hands-on Labs Interactive Simulation. This will allow you to experience steps which are too time-consuming or resource intensive to do live in the lab environment. In this simulation, you can use the software interface as if you are interacting with a live environment.

The orange boxes show where to click, and the left and right arrow keys can also be used to move through the simulation in either direction.

  1. Click Hosts and Clusters.
  2. Click on the RegionA01-COMP01.
  3. Click the Actions menu and then Deploy OVF Template to start the installation wizard.
  4. Click the Local File radio button.
  5. Click Browse.
  6. Click the vRealize Operations Manager Appliance OVA file.

  15. Click Next to continue.
  16. Next we select the size of the Appliance. Click the Configuration drop down.
  17. Click Extra Small.  The Small appliance is generally suitable for installations up to 2,000 VMs. However we recommend checking the latest sizing guidelines on vmware.com during prerequisite checks. (Note due to limited resources, we will be deploying an Extra Small appliance in the demo).
  18. Click Next.
  19. Select the Thin Provision virtual disk format.
  20. Select the None option for the VM Storage Policy.
  21. Now we need to choose on which cluster we want to install the vROps appliance. Click RegionA01-ISCSI01-COMP01

  30. Ensure the Time Zone setting is set to the Etc/UTC option.
  31. Click Next.
  32. Review the final configuration details and click Finish to deploy the appliance.

You can now Click on the Recent Tasks Bar in vCenter to review the progress of the installation.  Once complete, there should be two green checkmarks next to the import and deploy tasks.
