Deploy the vRealize Business for Cloud Appliance

This part of the lab is presented as a Hands-on Labs Interactive Simulation. This will allow you to experience steps which are too time-consuming or resource intensive to do live in the lab environment. In this simulation, you can use the software interface as if you are interacting with a live environment.

The orange boxes show where to click, and the left and right arrow keys can also be used to move through the simulation in either direction.

  1. Click Hosts and Clusters to begin the installation.
  2. Click on RegionA01-COMP01.
  3. Click on the Actions dropdown menu and select Deploy OVF Template to start the installation wizard.
  4. Click on the Local File radio button.
  5. Click Browse.
  6. Click the vRealize-Business-Standard OVA file and then click Open.
  7. Note the filename path and click Next.
  8. In the Name field, review the name vrbc-01a and region and click Next.
  9. Click on the RegionA01-COMP01 datacenter object.
  10. Click Next.
  11. Review the template details. Click Next to continue.
  12. Accept the EULA. Click Next to continue.

Click on the Select virtual disk format dropdown box and select the option to use the Thin Provision disk format.  Review the Storage Policy.  Select None.  Note that the VM Storage Policy is set to Datacenter Default and the datastore we are deploying to is displayed as RegionA01-ISCSI01-COMP01.
  14. Click Next.
  15. Next we need to connect the virtual appliance’s NIC to the Mangement network. Under Destination network, click the dropdown box and select  ESXi-RegionA01-vDS-COMP.
  16. Click Next.
  17. Click the checkbox to Enable SSH service.
  18. Scroll down on the right side of the window to view more properties that need to be configured.
